R1-04 Discovery log
Supports slide 7.
How many outside people I actually talked to, July 2025 to 16 Oct 2026, and how I counted. Confidence is medium: the counts are floors.
The counts
| What | Count | Detail |
|---|---|---|
| cal.com bookings, outside people | About 88 | 42 from 14 Jun to 16 Oct 2026; 46 from Jul 2025 to 13 Jun 2026 |
| Unique outside people | About 70 | 9 unnamed |
| Partner calls by name | About 18 | DTA ×5, SecRed ×4, PolicyCo ×3, CSA, ArqLab, SG Advisory ×2, X-Analytics, Wykoff, Diligent, Kromkowski, Fossity. Weekly partner syncs from Jun 2026 on top. |
| Pricing-page one-question notes | 14 | 8 on 9 Sep, 6 from 16 to 23 Sep. 2 useful replies, plus Heidi. |
| MCP beta invitations | About 12 | Sent 18 Sep. More than half accepted the same day. |
| Inbound inquiries answered by name | At least 5 | See R1-09 for the contact-form log |
Excluded: the team, my mentor, the cohort, vendors and Mike Boysen.
How I counted
cal.com confirmations paged in full. 50 Clarify meeting summaries sampled. Google Meet invites booked outside cal.com aren’t counted, so the real number is higher.
Three findings from the log
- Nearly all of it is STIGViewer. DeepFeedback and PRFAQ show no outside discovery calls in the record. That’s a finding in itself.
- The fee surprised Heidi; the reason didn’t. Week of 16 to 23 Sep, Heidi at IT Convergence was “surprised to see the fees even existing.” The next week I told her why we charge, and that evening she assigned an engineer to the MCP beta.
- Strike Graph’s customers won’t pay for MCP separately. So we bundle API and MCP in the paid tier.
Not yet evidenced: “a sample puts completions near three in four” (slide 7). The sample behind that ratio isn’t in the record I have.
